The Registry, created by Royal Decree 163/2014, includes the efforts of Spanish organizations in the calculation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions generated by their activity. At the same time, it facilitates the possibility of offsetting all or part of their carbon footprint, through a series of forestry projects located in the national territory.
These projects integrate environmental and social benefits, among which is the absorption of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, also known as carbon sequestration.
In our commitment to the environment and the development of a sustainable activity, Cosmewax requested this stamp granted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. This request was accompanied by a mandatory reduction plan that details the actions that will be carried out to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, as a previous step to certify the reduction of the footprint, which implies showing the decreasing trend of emissions.
Currently, the “National Carbon Footprint Registry” has approximately a thousand registered companies; Cosmewax is one of the first companies in the cosmetic sector in Spain to obtain the stamp that accredits it.
